It was established in 1983 in a small town Pulawy near Lublin, and performed until 1988. The composer and lyrics author was Tomasz Adamski, who was also a guitar player, and later a lead singer as well.

Adamski shouted the text with his hoarse voice, accompanied by dirty guitar riffs. With this aggressive vocal, high pace and its sudden changes, an early Siekiera resembles the seed-punk The Exploited or the thrash-metal Motörhead, rather than better-known Western punk stars.

The lyrics of songs such as Atak Już Nadchodzi, Nadchodzi Zwykłe Świństwo, Krwawy Front, Rana Kłuta, Zabij ty!, Oddział ślepych  compose of just a few words expressing aggression, cruelty and nihilism of war. Songs may be interpreted as a fascination with violence and chaos of war, but also as an anti-war expression, targeted at the youth which underwent an obligatory army recruitment – in an authoritarian state which has just directed an army against its own civils.

Na wszystkich frontach świata is a compilation of 30 studio demos and concerts’ recordings in Jarocin and Wroclaw in 1984, so the beginnings of the band. Those recordings have never been published before in any form. They were released in 2008 thanks to the activities of Robert Jarosz and his Trasa W-Z Archive. He managed to persuade to cooperate Sławomir Pakos, an owner of a small record company in Katowice, W Moich Oczach, which specialized in punk and reggae. The record was released in a series “Legends’ manufacture” and was accompanied by a modern cover designed by Wilhelm Sasnal, famous Polish painter, as well as 40-pages long booklet with lyrics in Polish and English, photographs and commentaries.

The news on  „Jarocin’s music” comeback was noticed in media and the edition was quickly sold out. It inspired the band to get back to making music and releasing a new album in 2011.

Skuodis’ letter to the US president Jimmy Carter was written on 28 November 1979. In the letter, Skuodis presented himself as a citizen of the USA (Benedict Scott, born in Chicago in 1929). He reveals the human rights situation in Soviet Lithuania. In the letter, he blames the Soviet regime for the violation of the democratic rights of citizens. He mentions the KGB search of his house in 1979, when many drafts and manuscripts were taken by KGB investigators. One of these was the manuscript of his book Dvasinis genocidas Lietuvoje (Spiritual Genocide in Lithuania). The book is a detailed survey of the KGB’s persecution of the Catholic Church in Lithuania, and Skuodis planned to send it to the West. It was published in Lithuania only after the collapse of the Soviet Union, in 1996.

Ivan Blatný emigrated to England in 1948. In Czechoslovakia, he was labelled a “traitor” and became a banned author. Later, the Czechoslovak Radio even falsely announced that Blatný had died in England. In 1968, during the era of the “Prague Spring”, the interest in Blatný and his poetry grew in Czechoslovakia. An example of this increasing interest, there was a programme dedicated to Blatný’s poetry called “The Smells of Brno”. This programme, advertised by a small poster from the Ivan Blatný Collection, was organised by the Czech director and artist Karel Fuksa in the Brno House of Arts. Blatný’s poems were recited by Czech actors Ladislav Lakomý and Helena Kružíková. According to Fuksa, the hall was full. In the same year, the Blok publishing house issued the second edition of Ivan Blatný’s “Melancholic Walks”, and Blatný’s poems sporadically appeared in Czechoslovak press or on the Radio. Then, Blatný’s texts could be officially published in Czechoslovakia only after 1989.
